Mallory and Jesse wanted an eco-friendly wedding at Zigbone Farm Retreat in Sabillasville, MD, with a peachy, coral-y palette that had a casual wildflower vibe to go with their venue. Zigbone is an eco-friendly farm with historic buildings, farm animals, gorgeous mountain views and space for all sorts of gatherings! Mallory first got in touch in 2019, but because of COVID, Mallory had to postpone, so the season of her wedding changed, which ended up changing some of her flowers. But she stayed positive, we worked together to make a switch, and we were able to find some absolutely GORGEOUS fall flowers in the same sunset-y color palette. This wedding ended up being one of my favorite weddings of the season, my current featured wedding on my website!

Mallory’s bouquet was a beautiful, horizontally oriented gathering of coral dahlias, my favorite garden rose, the Romantic Antike, marigolds, stock, strawflowers, celosia and olive foliage.

We created beautiful chair markers with long coral ribbons and a lush arch design on Zigbone’s arch.

So, since Mallory changed seasons for her wedding, due to COVID, we had to reimagine what flowers we might use for her wedding. With this coral/sunset/melon color palette, I had planned on using Coral Charm peonies. (If you don’t know what those are, go google that quick! I’ll wait! They’re GORG!) But they are a late spring/early summer flower, and Mallory was switching to a fall wedding. Luckily, Mallory was super flexible and trusted me to choose seasonal flowers in her color palette. There are dahlias in a similar color palette that made the perfect substitute. I personally think the marigolds made the entire floral selection pop!

Here are a few more of my favorites, including the groom’s beautiful late summer boutonniere (complete with a mask – it was my first image that I ever got back with a mask in it!).

Can we talk about how perfectly this wall matches the flowers? I wish I could take credit for the perfection of the wall and the gorgeous contrast of the bridesmaid dresses (that part was Mallory’s doing, of course), but I didn’t even get to pick those! Sometimes everything just comes together perfectly!
